Great post and solution.
What I discovered inside 'analytics.php' is that I do not need to render a page in a browser to send data to analytics account what helps me solve this problem under a certain scenario I have: between a page and another there is a script doing something at server (not sending anything to client's browser) that ends up redirecting to the second page but I want this script in the middle to be counted in GA.

Not only I can track the 'middle invisible for browser step', also I can data i want conditioned by the process.

THANKS Philippe for the idea!

Ok basically, you will need one Google Analytics profile for your normal traffic, which you will add on every page of your site. You must create a new Google Analytics profile and follow this tutorial in order to get the bots traffic. This 2 entirely different things!

Thanks Phillipe for this excellent post!!

i want to implement this on my sites , but i have to to ask you this:

on all of my pages there is the new GA tracking code installed.
you said eariler that it must not be installed. so how can i implement this?
also, do i need to change something on the GA code? repalce the site id? won't my visitor tracking be stopped this way?
